C6000 support in 8.x compilers

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6455

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

I am trying to create a new project in ccs V9.01 for a TMS320C6455. However it tells me that the 8.3.3 compiler but I get the following message: Selected device is no longer supported by compilers of version 8.0.0 or higher

I have the 8.x compilers for the C6000 installed. Why is it telling me this?

  • Recent versions of the C6000 compiler do not support older variants of the processor.  The last release of the compiler to support the C64xx family of devices is version 7.4.24.  Please see the article Compiler Updates to learn about installing different versions of the compiler, including older versions.

    Thanks and regards,
