CCS/TMS320F28034: CCS uses Windows PING.exe?

I am looking into this.  I thought perhaps it was the CCS update check but that does not seem to be the case.  

One possibility is that the CCS here is 6.0.1.  In that version of CCS we still used Flexera software licensing.  It is very possible that the licensing software is calling ping.

Are they stuck on CCSv6.0.1 or can they use a newer version?

If I run a process monitor utility I can see ping.exe being invoked once on startup of CCSv6.0.1.  

I do not see this in newer versions of CCS (v7 and later) that do not use software licensing.

If the customer needs to get rid of the call to ping.exe then the best option is to use a newer version of CCS.

Thanks for your reply.
My customer tried install CCSv7 based on your advice.

He got CCS7.4.0 off-line installer from below website and execute it on Windows 7.

But windows crashes in the middle of installation with blue screen. He tried twice and got same results.
I will send you installation log file with separate message.
Could you take a look the log and check why it crashed?
