Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hello,
I've learned that the Spectrum Digital XDS510 USB emulator is not supported under CCS V9. Can someone recommend a good replacement, that will?
Regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,
You did not mention the processor family you are working with but there a few debug probe options available.
This TI page (for C2000) shows available alternatives:
http://www.ti.com/microcontrollers/c2000-real-time-control-mcus/design-development.html#development-toolchain
There are also product pages on ti.com for each of the debug probes where you can get more details on each of them. This Resource Explorer link is another resource from where you can get to more details about each debug probe.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. We're doing both C28X and C67X. Can you recommend specifically, based on that?
Robert

Depends on which C67x device. If it is C671x or C672x, then you would need the XDS560v2. If it is C674x, then the XDS200 is also an option.
I would recommend looking at the TI product page for the specific device(s) you are using and under the 'Design and Development" tab you should find the list of supported debug probes. For example: http://www.ti.com/product/TMS320C6748/toolssoftware
Both of those debug probes will work with C28x. Ultimately it comes down to a choice based on cost, feature and performance requirements.
This page is a good reference to have an idea about performance comparison across debug probes:
http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/application_notes/appnote-debug_probe_performance_results.html
Also the XDS510USB can still be used with CCS versions up till 8.3.1.

We're on C674X. But it says here XDS560v2 JTAG will do anything except C67x?
"Basic JTAG debug supports most TI microcontrollers (except MSP430), all wireless MCUs, most DSPs (except C54x, C62x, C67x) and all ARM processors"
Or maybe I've misunderstood it?
Thanks,
Robert
Seems that statement is not accurate.
