CCS/TMS320C40: Need old version of CCS for TMS34020

Part Number: TMS320C40

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I work for Northrop Grumman where we support the APN-241 radar OFP software.  This is an old radar which contains two TI processors: TMS320C30 and TMS34020.  Currently CCS compilers/assemblers both run in shells on Windows 7.  We're being forced to migrate to Windows 10 which means we'll have to re-install the CCS compilers.  Unfortunately we don't have the original installation disks.  I would greatly appreciate it if you could dig into your vaults of old CCS version and find the versions that support TMS320C30 and TMS34020.  I'm pretty sure we can get them to work in Windows 10 the same way we run them on the 64-bit Windows 7: We run the TMS320C30 CCS compiler in a BASH shell and we run the TMS34020 compiler inside a DOSBOX version 0.74.  Your help will be greatly appreciate it or else we'll be dead in the water trying to support the C-130J radars going forward.

  • Zoran,

I can help you with the Code Composer for TMS320C30.  However I am not familiar with TMS34020.  That would have pre-dated Code Composer.  Are you able to copy them from your existing Windows 7 machines?

    Regards,

    John

  • I believe you're right about the TMS34020 and that we should be able to copy it over to the new machine.  So that resolves one of our problems.  So how about the compiler for the TMS320C30?  Can we just copy it over to the new machine also?  If not do you guys at TI have the setup disks for the compiler/assembler/linker?

  • Copying over the C30 tools should work as well.  If you need to use those tools within the Code Composer IDE then I will need to provide the installer for that environment as it has to setup some Windows registry settings. However since you mentioned DOSBOX I don't believe that is a requirement.

    Regards,

    John

  • Zoran,

I am going to close off this thread as I believe we are good on the installer topic.  I will keep pursuing the other item via private messages.

    Regards,

    John
