CCS: 'Cannot read property 'DS' of undefined' error of Uniflash

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi team,

This Brian who is supporting EP in North and West China. My customer is using  TM4E129BNCZADI3 in one of their designs.

When they are trying to program the device with Uniflash, they kept meeting this error. The error is shown when they click the [read device info].

They met this error in another OEM factory. And I suggested them to reinstall Uniflash, run as administer and delete XDS110 in device manager. None of this helps. At last, they changed another computer and it can work well on that computer.

This week, they met the same error in another ODM factory, thus I am assuming this is an universal bug of uniflash. And I saw similar quesiton on E2E as well.

Do you have a specific solution for this problem? Customer cannot always change their computer.

  • Hi Brian,

Can you have the customer go to the "Settings" options (in the upper right corner) and in the settings dialog, enable both GUI and Debug Server logging. Then reproduce the issue and zip and attach the logs to this thread.

    thanks

    ki

  • Thank you Brian. Can you also provide the ds.log file for the Debug Server Logging?

  • Hi Ki,

    Log attached.4774.ds.log

    Thanks!

  • Thank you! The logs are under investigation.

In the meantime, can the customer try using the command-line interface to see if that works fine?

  • I helped customer to generate a standalone package, and run dslite in CMD line.

    Here is what they got:

Seems there is a JTAG connection issue? Any idea how to fix that?

This seems to point to a HW issue. See:

    http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/ccs_debugging_jtag_connectivity_issues.html#power-loss

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hi Ki,

Since this HW has been succesfully programed before, I believe this might not be a power loss issue.

They met this problem before, and it just disappeared after changing another computer.

Customer are using XDS110 as the debugger. Is there any other files they need to install (like driver and etc.) that may cause this problem?

Besides, is there any helpful result in the log?

    Regards,

    Brian

It is not a driver issue. It looks like a reliability issue. Can you have the customer try lowering the TCLK setting in the ccxml file?
