CCS/MSP430F5529: Modifying watch window variable value

Hi,

I have been developing code on my custom PCB with MSP430F5529 microcontroller. I am using MSP430 Debugger doe programming the board. I have been trying to modify the value of variable in watch window after halting the program execution, but the value is not changed and it resets back to its initial value. I am using CCS version 8. Kindly guide me to resolve this issue.

Is the Flash memory? If so, you will not be able to modify that memory location with the Variables/Expressions view.

Hello Ki,

Thanks for your reply. The location which I am accessing is of an integer buffer which I believe is stored in RAM only. My program in burned in Flash. Are there any guidelines how to modify contents of a memory location?

Then you should be able to modify the value. What address are you trying to modify? What happens when you try to modify it via the Memory Browser view?

I was able to modify the variable via Memory Browser View.
