CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28027F: Unable to open example files and Labs

The example files and labs were once able to open, but now they are not. After reinstalling both CCS and Motorware, the issue was not fixed. The image below shows the files in File Explorer, but they cannot be opened.

    How exactly are you trying to "open" them? The files in that directory are project metadata files, and although they can be opened in an editor and viewed, projects are typically imported into CCS using the CCS menu Project->Import CCS Projects. Is it the import process you are having trouble with?

    That directory is supposed to contain 3 files - .ccsproject, .cproject and .project. It looks like the .project file is being misinterpreted as a pdf file on your system, for some reason?

    Here is a screenshot of the equivalent directory in my system.
