Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
I've previously used Arduino and Energia to write and program code. I wanted to take it to the next step with this MSP432. I'm told using CCS is closer to a professional toolchain.
For the life of me, I can't get any examples imported into CCS from the Resource Explorer. This app seems overly complicated and intimidating compared to the other apps I've used to code. Is it just my bad luck I'm having this issue?
Bob,
The warning about defaulting to a specific version of XDCtools is expected, but the error is not. I've actually never seen this specific error message before.
I just imported the out of box example without any errors, so let us double-check your steps.
Did you download and install the latest version of SimpleLink MSP432P4 SDK v3.20.00.06 directly from Resource Explorer?
Does the same error appear when importing other example projects as well? If so, I wonder if the SDK installation or CCS installation may somehow be incomplete or corrupted.
I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling both CCS and the SDK, just to be sure. Please completely delete the directories where they are both currently installed. Then reinstall CCS and SDK. You can download/install the SDK from Resource Explorer or download the installer from the TI web at http://www.ti.com/tool/download/SIMPLELINK-MSP432-SDK
