CCSv4 is based off Eclipse 3.2 and those features are not supported by default. However there are Eclipse plugins that you can try to add these features. For example, here is one for displaying white spaces: http://andrei.gmxhome.de/anyedit/links.html (Download the one for 3.2)
Later versions of Eclipse support these features by default (like the one CCSv5 will be based on).
