OMAP4 simulator in CCSv4

Hi,

I would like to install OMAP4 simulator. I have installed CCS4.2. But it didn't give me any OMAP4 configurations. I have tried to update the CCS with the below update link, but it is not working -

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv4/Updates/OMAP4/site.xml

Can anyone help me installing the OMAP4 in CCSv4?

  • CCSv4 does not come with these simulators by default. You may be able to get these separately as an add-on to CCS. I'll see if I can get more answers on how to do this.

  • Hi Venkat,

CCSv4.2 has only the individual sub-system simulators like the DSP, Imaging, and video sub-system simulators and not the complete SoC platform simulator. One should go to Synopsys to get the SoC Virtual Platform.

Also, the CCSv4.2 doesn't provide the sub-system simulators by default to mass market. TI needs to provide a key to install these simulators based on the customer request evaluation.

Previously the OMAP4 sub-system simulators were provided as a separate installer over CCSv4.2. But now with the RTM release of CCSv4.2, these simulators are made available, but with a restricted device key.

Any reason why you want to use simulators when Panda boards are available?

Please provide the name of the your company and the reason for using simulators.

    Regards,

    Anuradha.

  • Hi,

I was actually trying to install IVA-HD simulator on CCSv4. The documentation refers to simulation_csp_omap4 directory for installation instructions. But I didn't see the directory in my CCSv4 installation. Hence I thought I would install OMAP4 first.

Later, I realized it is not required and I got the direct link to install IVAHD simulator from IVAHD support team.
