CCS/TMS320DM6467: Blackhawk emulator is not found

Part Number: TMS320DM6467

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

My customer reported JTAG connection error with below environments.

PC: Windows 10 64bits
JTAG: Blackhawk XDS560v2 System Trace USB Emulator
CCS: version 7
Device: DM6467

Attached image is JTAG connect test result.
It seems emulator was not found.

Customer checked device manager and found Blackhawk driver shows an alert (yellow triangle).

Could you tell me how to solve the issue?

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • Koichiro-san,

Please check additional details and suggestions at the Debugging JTAG page below (search for the error number):

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Hi Rafael,

    Sorry for my late reply.

Customer changed the PC with Windows10 32bit and it worked.
They are using this environment for now.

Customer wants windows10 64bit driver for Blackhawk XDS560v2.
Where can they download the driver?

    Thanks and regards,
    Koichiro Tashiro

  • Koichiro,

I am not entirely sure about this question. The 64-bit drivers for Windows 64 are available with all CCS installations since v5. Up until CCSv8, they interfaced with Code Composer Studio, a 32-bit application.

With the advent of version 9, Code Composer Studio became a 64-bit application but the Windows 64-bit drivers remained the same.

All the versions install the Blackhawk device drivers in the Operating System if the user selects this support during the CCS installation.

In this particular case, I cannot provide a definitive assessment about the root cause of this issue since the Blackhawk device drivers should work on the 64-bit host and have been working on many hosts for years now.

    Regards,

    Rafael
