Compiler/C6000-CGT: link to download C6000 7.4.16 compiler doesn't work

Part Number: C6000-CGT

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

I tried several times to download the compiler;.  I start with link below that I found in the user guide to the vital signs 6843 lab:

https://www.ti.com/licreg/docs/swlicexportcontrol.tsp?form_type=2&prod_no=ti_cgt_c6000_7.4.16_windows_installer.exe&ref_url=http://software-dl.ti.com/codegen/esd/cgt_registered_sw/C6000/7.4.16PC

This causes me to get emailed a link to download the compiler:(I deleted some ID part of the link after the .exe):

https://downloads.ti.com/downloads/codegen/esd/cgt_registered_sw/C6000/7.4.16PC/ti_cgt_c6000_7.4.16_windows_installer.exe

but the page that the link goes to (in Chrome) shows:

  • This download page has many older versions of TI compilers, including C6000 version 7.4.16.

    However, I suggest you get version 7.4.24 instead.  It is the same as version 7.4.16, but with about 2.5 years of bug fixes.

    Thanks and regards,

  • George,

        Thanks - that link works and the toolset installs.  perhaps any TI tool person monitoring this can bring the info files and project build options up to date.  Would you happen to know the DSP C6000 compiler and linker variables would need to be changed to shift to this tool.  I currently have the 6843 lab projects which are set up for the other tools residing at ti/ccs910    I can't help but wonder if significant changes to the projects would be needed - maybe including different include files to switch over to the 7.4.16 tools.

  • I am not familiar with the example project you use.  So I cannot answer questions about how to change it.  I suggest you start a new thread in the Processors forum.  Be sure to explain exactly where you get this example project.

    Thanks and regards,
