Trouble installing CCS4.2.1.00004

Hi all

We are trying to install CCS4 on a WIN XP Workstation without succes. We are running into an error stating "DevCon is unable to install the XDS560 Driver". By clicking the error message away, the installation continues, but at the end we are not able to connect to the emulator POD (Blackhawk USB2000). The same installation was succesful on another WIN XP Laptop, so the exe file seems to be OK.

See attached the error message and the installation log's. If more information is needed please let me know.

Hi Andreas,

The XP Workstation with the install issue... is it XP-64bit Windows? I've seen that error in the past on another XP64 bit machine.

Hi Ki,

It is a 64 bit processor (AMD Opteron) but a 32 bit Windows in compatibility mode. I have a similar setup on my workstation where ccs4 is running just fine

I've only seen this issue once and it was on a 64-bit Windows OS. In that case copying in some missing files helped with connecting to his device. Can you check:

\ccsv4\common\targetdb\drivers

and see if you see xml files with tixds560*.xml in there?

You can also try installing CCS while in Safe Mode. That has helped when there is some conflict with another running process in Normal Mode.

Problem is solved - it was caused by a destroyed USB Stack on the target machine. Windows had to be re-installed.
