CCS/CCSTUDIO3: CCS/DSK6713 Initialization Error: Setup for DSK6713?

Part Number: CCSTUDIO3

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I am trying to connect Code Composer Studio version 3.3 to the Spectrum Digital DSK6713 development kit. My version of CCS is CCS_3.3.83.20 Platinum.

During the startup of CCS I am having an error:

I have set up CCS using the setup tool with the following configuration::

The configuration file was C:/ti/ccsv3/drivers/import/dsk6713.ccs.

Could you please help me find the source of this error?

Best regards,

Sandra Wilfling

  • Sandra,

This error reflects an inability of the host to talk to the Debug Probe built into the DSK6713. Unfortunately these are unsupported tools and our ability to provide support are quite limited nowadays.

At any rate, you can always check the USB connections and the Windows Control Panel to see if the drivers were properly instantiated by the Operating System. They should be in a node called SD Debug Tools or Spectrum Digital Debug Tools. If they are not properly instantiated, you can try to reinstall the drivers from the Spectrum Digital installation directory - I can't recall if it is under C:\Program Files\Spectrum Digital or under C:\ti\ccsv3\

Also, check the status of the board's hardware - see if the device is properly powered, the power supply has no voltage fluctuations or something on the sorts.

Finally, if you have another host with the same configuration and/or other boards, try swapping among these to isolate the problem.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Hello Rafael,

Thank you for your reply. I rechecked the drivers and found out that I had the drivers for CCSv3.1 installed when I was using CCSv3.3. I found the CCSv3.3 drivers on http://support.spectrumdigital.com/ccs33/
Thank you very much for the help!

    Best regards,
