CCS does not want to start

G'day Guys,

i seem to have a problem which i cant seem to fix.

I just purchased a TMDSDOCKF28335 deflino microcontroller and am having trouble with code composer v3.3. What happens is when i install the code composer it installs fine with or without DSP/BIOS and then when i run the CCS set-up and choose my chip that seems to work fine and then after i save and quit, CCS will open. But then if i try to run CCS by itself, the program does not want to start. It tries to run the set-up again and if you click yes or no it comes up with the error:

"Error reading Code Composer Set-up Information. Code composer may not have been correctly installed".

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this problem,

Hi Blake,

What Windows version are you using? And are you running with Admin rights?

running windows 7, and i am the only user using this computer and there is only one profile so i would assume that i am running admin rights

hmm... CCSv3 does not officially support Windows 7. Some have gotten it to work, but others have run into various issues. We recommend Windows 7 users (especially if they are on 64-bit OS) to move to CCSv4, which supports Windows 7, including 64-bit Windows 7.

If you still want to try to get CCSv3 working on Windows 7, I'd suggest looking at this wiki topic:

Even though the topic is for Vista, many of the tips also apply to Windows 7 (disabling UAC, etc)
