Hi,

I am using a Processor SDK RTOS. In this too many files are linking. How can I go to function definition?

I tried with ctrl + left click but is going to function declaration not definition. I searched also the by function name in file search and c/c++ search but it is not coming. Please help me in this matter.

Hi,

There are so many functions in the driver project given by Texas Instrument.

For example, McSpiModuleClk() is declared in some .h file and definition is in some other .c file. Calling is in main.c file. When I am pressing ctrl key + left click of mouse, it is going to declaration in .h file but I want definition.

Anything else you need for clarification please let me know.

Can you specify which exact project and the names of the c source and h header files for McSpiModuleClk()?

Hi,

Project name is MCSPI_Loopback_evmAM335x_armExampleProject and file name is mcspiLoopbackApp.c.

In this .c file so many functions are there, you can check any function.

I imported this example but do not see any reference to McSpiModuleClk.

I did try with some other functions like McSPIVerifyData() and when I hit F3 (or left-click + CTRL), it does jump to the actual declaration. The only exception is if the function is defined with extern.

Ok.

For functions define with extern, is there any other way to reach definition?

Can we search definition ?

Try for UART_write().

That function is not part of the project, which is why you are unable to jump to the definition. Likely it is from a library that is being linked in.

I suppose if you really want to be able to jump to the definition, you can link the source folder location (which has the source file with the definition of it) to your project. This will allow the indexer to pick it up so that you can then jump to the definition of it from another source file.
