Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hi,i Purchased two MSP-EXP430G2ET TI Launchpad. we use CCS IDE for development but it can not detect on board MCU also it used for external MCU Programming(Use 4 wire JTAG ) it shows Error = Error initializing emulator : Could not set device VCC.
Hello Uppala,
What version of CCS are you using when this error is received?
Are all the jumpers set on J101 when programming the on board device?
When programming the on board device, can you confirm that the chip is oriented in the socket correctly. Section 2.8 of the users guide below describes this.

When programming on external MCU, the launchpad can only use SBW(2 wire), and not full 4 wire JTAG. Section 2.6 of the users guide describes this.
Hello sir.,
I use CCS V 7.3.0 version and all the jumpers set on J101 when programming the on Board device.

Amol
Hello Amol,
According to the users guide, CCS v7.0 and up should be compatible, but you may want to upgrade to the latest just to check. CCS 7 is fairly old as well. It can be downloaded below.

You could also try using ccs cloud to check if this seems to be a software problem or hardware.
hello Eddie,
I already use CCS upgrade V7.3.0 .i check hardware by using Uniflash it work. but by using CCS IDE it cannot work on launchpad. i think issue in a CCS IDE. check it at your side . TI support team tell to me raise your issue on TI E2E community. please check it issue in a CCS ,suggest me solution for that issue.
Best Regards,
Amol
Glad to hear that Uniflash worked, so it does not sound like a hardware issue. Have you been able to test using the latest version of CCS? The latest version is 9.2 and available below.
hello Sir.,
Thanks sir using CCS V9.2 its work.issue is resolved .
Best Regards,
Amol
