"could not open source file"

Ok I read the postings about opening source files, particularly in my case I had an #include <justin.h> file and it wouldn't build due to this error. But last week and times before that it would. I saw an update to my software earlier today. After getting the error message multiple times, I reinstalled the software and I was still getting the error. After reading the posts I went into the Build Properties and specified the location of the header file within the file system. After I did this I got 51 errors all refering to memory ranges (FLASH, INFOA, INFOB, etc. overlapping, yadda yadda). Should I be including header files differently? What is going on?

Also on a side note, when you search the Community for "could not open source" nothing comes up. But if you search "open source" it comes open with those exact words. Really frustrating.

  • THE SOLUTION TO "COULD NOT OPEN SOURCE FILE" (at least for today):

Project -> Properties -> C/C++ Build -> (tab) 'Tool Settings' -> Includes -> manually add your serach path in the lower window -> Apply or OK

I tried this yesterday and it didn't work. I had to make a new project. I think there was some file history or something.

  • hello! Justin. I am the new for the CCS5.2, and I have the same trouble, can I have your help?  please...~..~

  • Hey Li,

I haven't used the composer in awhile and it's off my computer. I remember that I had to change the source file to something on my local hard drive. TI should be able to tell you if you contact them over the phone. I had to get a rep to help me with this. Sorry I couldn't help more.
