CCS/MSP-EXP430F5529LP: I want to prepare a development environment. I already ordered the Evaluation Board.

 I want to step through a program and debug the occurrence of memory, registers, and interrupts.
Composition is MSP-EXP430F5529LP+MSP430F5529
Would you answer the following questions.

1.What should I use for an integrated development environment?
2.What should the debugger use? Dedicated JTAG? USB?
3.There seems to be multiple integrated development environments.Is there any material that shows the difference?
4.Can I install a real-time OS? To MSP.
5.Please tell us about the upcoming MSP430 training in Japan. Paid training is OK.

    Hi,

    1.What should I use for an integrated development environment?

    I would recommend you our free of charge Code Composer Studio, which comes also with code examples and other collaterals and the C-Compiler.


    2.What should the debugger use? Dedicated JTAG? USB?

    The MSP-EXP430F5529LP already has a debugger section on board, which enables you connecting the device to a PC and download code from an IDE like the suggested CCS and debug on the MSP430.


    3.There seems to be multiple integrated development environments.Is there any material that shows the difference?

    No I don't think there is a comparison, but the CCS is for free, so you can try without any costs, and other suppliers offer a free trial version usually.


    4.Can I install a real-time OS? To MSP.

    Yes, there is TI RTOS available. It can be downloaded through the CCS Resource Explorer after CCS installation also free of charge.


    5.Please tell us about the upcoming MSP430 training in Japan. Paid training is OK.

    Will check on this, but not aware currently of one.
