CCS/CCSTUDIO: No origin file on update

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I had someone run into this error when attempting to run CCS after an update on CCS 9.1.

There has been an error. No origin file found that matched C:/ti/ccs910/eclipse/downloads/ccs_manifest.xml

What could this be attributed to? Failed extract of update files?

Is easiest fix just to reinstall CCS or will this possibly resolve by restarting the machine?

  • Hi Mark,

That's part of the download of the update. Could you please zip up the ccs/install_logs folder and attach here? This will help us debug things.

Also, can you list the files/folders in ccs/eclipse/downloads? I can take a look at the logs and let you know if the user needs to reinstall, i.e. if the update failed. Rebooting will not help in this case.

  • I just tried to upgrade and got the same error message and I am not able to run CCS. Do you just need the .log files?

  • Hi Paul,

What version did you have installed? Did you try to upgrade via eclipse, or did you rerun the 9.2 installer over top of the installation directory?

Could you please zip up the ccs/install_logs folder and attach here?

Also, can you list the files/folders in ccs/eclipse/downloads? I can take a look at the logs and let you know if the user needs to reinstall, i.e. if the update failed.

  • CCS prompted me about the upgrade, so I clicked through and let it perform the upgrade. It exited with the error message and when I tried to relaunch CCS I get the same error message. Is there a way to send the log directory without making the zip file public? I noticed that the .log files contain my Windows account name which I rather not share publicly and I'm not sure what some of the other files contain.  Thanks, Paul

  • Yes, of course. I'm sending you a connect request.

  • I sent you a compressed file with the logs and a directory listing. Thanks!

  • Hi Paul,

It looks like it failed to update a component, and unfortunately, there’s no way to recover from that. I would recommend downloading and installing CCS 9.2.0 afresh.

If you want to keep the install as is, you can remove the contents of the downloads folder, so it will stop trying to install the failed update and let you keep using CCS, but I’m not sure what other issues you’ll run into.

    I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Hi Danish, I removed the files in the download directory and I was able to run CCS without issue. That is a great fix until I can upgrade. Thanks for your help.

    Cheers, Paul
