CCS/TMS320F28335: GEL Expression pop-up and the CCS becomes not responding

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am running CCS v8.0. When I connect CCS with TMS320F28335, I see a popup of GEL Expressions: as shown below. The CCS than get hung-up and I am unable to even halt the code running. Can someone sugget me changes to make for ensuring the issue to be sorted?

I run the code created using MATALB build command.

Hello,

The debugger is getting stuck executing the actions in the OnTargetConnect() GEL callback function.

Please reproduce the error while generating a debug server log and attach it to this thread;

Dear Ki,

The log files are attached here. Please check. I have also attached the file generated using MATLAB simulink by using build command in MATLAB. Also, the MATLAB simulink file is attached to the email. I am now getting error of connecting as given below:

Error connecting to the target: (Error -1041 @ 0xFFFFFF66) The debug probe reported an error. Confirm debug probe configuration and connections, reset the debug probe, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 7.0.188.0)

Please help me by providing step by step procedure for the sorting the issue. I am a new user of the TMS320f28335 peripheral board.

Hi Bikash,

Debug the probe by using Code Composer Studio and not using MathWorks software. Once you confirm operation, make sure you disconnect from the board with CCS,

In some cases CCS & MathWorks software end up blocking each other from the USB port the probe is connected to. To fix this you may need to reboot your PC and only connect with 1 piece of SW.

You can also review the attached document which is focused on getting External Mode to work, but also has help on checking the virtual COM port.

Can you confirm that only CCS has a connection? Please try the suggestion from Brian above.
