Flash Programming Tool in CCS 4.1

Hi:

I am using CCS 4.1.3.00038 and I want to program the flash on a MSP430F5510 device. However, I don't see the option

"On-chip Flash" under "Tools." Could you please help?

Mushtaq,

If you selected MSP430F5510 when you created your project then when you launch a debug session it should automatically program the flash on the device. "On-chip flash" doesn't show up on the menu for MSP430.

This implies that if I disconnect the target from the Emulator and power the target, it would run 'standalone.' Is this correct?

Yes the device would still be programmed.

Just adding to John's response, you can set some MSP430 device options on the menu Tools --> MSP430 Debugger Options (when the debugger is launched).

Another alternative to access these options is to go to menu Window --> Preferences and type "MSP430" in the filter box (the one that says "type filter text").
