CCS/CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: CCSv9.20 ccstudio.exe just disappears?

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi

The issue ccstudio.exe disappearing happened again. I was using CCSv9.20 yesterday all day, then today I opened my laptop and I see the CCSv9.20 become a blank page. I checked the ccstudio.exe at eclipse folder and its gone. What logs do you need?

  • Hi Markel,

Did you have deactivated your AV software? As to be honest, I am not surprised that you may have a issue with AVG antivirus, because this software is made in Czech republic :)

At my computer at work I have AVG Business and I am not experiences with such kind of issue. I am sure if such features are available at free version but generally you should:

    • disable CyberCapture feature
    • set exception to whole CCS directory

  • Hi JanD,

My AVG Free Antivirus has been here since CCSv8.2. I do not understand why this happens at the latest CCSv9.20.

  • Hi Markel,

Did you perform any updates to CCS yesterday, before the ccstudio.exe disappeared?

  • Markel,

I have to agree with Jan. You need a log from your AV/Firewall, not CCS...

    Rafael

  • Hi,

I just use CCSv9.20 all day. I did not do any update. I am using AVG Free without firewall. If AVG Free would archive ccstudio.exe it should prompt me. I will uninstall AVG Free from my laptop and see if it happens again.

I re-installed CCSv9.20 again and this time I copy ccstudio.exe to another folder as backup.

Why not use the Windows folder restore option under folder properties? You can remove any false positive file from AVG quarantine folder, was it in there?

The only other time I have experienced what you report is a bad sector on the HDD just before it croaked, 250GB Seagate. Perhaps do a ntchkdsk or defrag to check the condition of HDD. The 1 Terabyte Seagate has been very good but I had two 250GB and things started disappearing some folders got cross linked.
