CCS: Broken file names fonts

Hi David,

It almost looks like it is trying to use some language pack. Did you install any additional Eclipse language packs to you CCS installation? Are you running English language Windows with localization set to English?

Also, please try cleaning your workspace folder:

Hi Ki,

I didn't select anything at CCS installation  apart from C6000 compiler tools and my Windows is default English UK. I've deleted the workspace folder but it starts by default with broken tab names, see picture. Everything else in the environment seems ok.

That is really odd. Is it just the tabs for the views? All the menu items in the various menus look ok? 

Yes, just the tabs, the menus are fine as well as any properties pages, like Window->Preferences.

Also, just as I tried to import some projects, got this error:

Regarding the last error "GC overhead limit exceeded":

Assuming you are on 64-bit windows and have a system with a decent amount of RAM, can you try increasing the max heap size value (Xmx)? something in the range of 1536m to 2048m should be good.

As for the strange character in the vew tabs, I am still looking into that.

Hi Ki,

Thank you, forgot about that, increasing Xmx no longer results into that crash. 

I don't know if it helps, but I don't remember seeing the broken font tabs in 9.1.0 version.

I've never seen that issue in 9.2.0. I'm baffled - especially since you don't have any additional language packs enabled.

Can you browse to: .\ccs\eclipse and launch CCS using the 'eclipse.exe' executable? Once launched, check the view tabs again. If it still looks strange, try opening one of the non-CCS edit/debug perspectives via "Window -> Perspective -> Open Perspective -> Other". You may have to select the "Show all" button to see the non-CCS edit/debug perspectives (also known as "C/C++" and "Debug" respectively)

I've cleared the workspace then tried 2 different perspectives (C/C++ or Team Synchronization), same thing happens.

My apologies for the delay. We've never seen this issue before. I've searched online for any related instances and could not find any. We are very confused. 

Could you try installing a fresh new CCS in another folder and launch it using a new workspace?

My apologies that you are still suffering with this issue. I am really baffled and I can't find an answer as to a root cause (or even a report of another instance of the issue).

Can you try stock Eclipse (Photon) and see if you have the same issue? I'm very certain that your issue is an Eclipse issue and not specific to CCS.
