CCS/MSP430FR2153: How to add MSP430FR2153 in CCS Ver. 6

Hi Team,

I am posting this on behalf of the customer.
The customer wants to know how to add MSP430FR2153TPTR to CCS Ver.6
The customer cannot upgrade to CCS9 because he is having issues with the debugger.

Here is the error the customer is encountering with CCS9:
C:\ti\ccs920\ccs\ccs_base\DebugServer\drivers\msp430-fpa.dll: %1 is not a valid Win32 application.

Hi Jonathan,

What version of Windows is the customer using? Also please provide if it is 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.

The customer is using Windows 10 64-bit.

When does this error occur? When he tries starting a debug session?

What debug probe is being used? Is it an Elprotronic?

Please note that CCSv9.x is now a full 64-bit application on Windows. This broke compatibility with some 3rd party emulation drivers that were 32-bit only. You will need to check with Elprotronic to see if they support CCSV9.x.

You can also try using CCSv8.3.1. It is the last 32-bit version of CCS. It also supports MSP430FR2153.

Elprotronic replied yesterday. They will recompile their driver to support 64bit.
