Error message when connecting file using port connect

Tried to do port connect with CCS4 and C6678 simulator

 

Got the following error message:

TMS320C66x_0: Error during port connect: Port connect not supported on this simulator configuration

I use CCS4 with version 4.1.0.02006 and teh simulator is tisim66xxx_joule_multi.dvr version 10.1.117.0

 

1. Is this a known issue or I do something wrong?

2. If this is a problem, was it corrected in other versions of teh simulator?

    Hi Ran,

     

    Port-connect feature is not supported in the C66x based SoC simulator configuration that are currently available. 

    Can you please help me with understanding your use-case? Traditionally, the port-connect features were supported on McASP/McBSP kind of peripherals and not for others. We had supported port-connect for memories. However, you could always load the data (that you intend to pump-it into the SoC thru port-connect) into the memoryand run your application. Wouldn't this suffice your need?
