Compiler: Compiler: armopt.exe experienced a segmentation fault TI; CODEGEN-6581

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

So, in sdowp with bug ID CODEGEN-6581, it says it is resolved, however, the bug still occurse in the 18.12.3 or 19.6 release of the ti compiler.

The workaround was to not use -o0 or -o1.

In the end it is still a bug, which was not fixed correctly.

  • The bug is fixed, but not in those particular compiler versions.  I agree the SDOWP record does not make this detail clear.  So, I will try to explain.

    The field Release displays the first versions tested to have the bug. (We only test versions actively supported in the field when the bug is reported, and not all versions ever released.)  The field Target Release displays the first versions to have the fix.  In this case, the bug is fixed in these versions of the TI ARM compiler:

    • Among the 18.1.x.LTS releases, in 18.1.7.LTS or higher
    • Among the 18.12.x.LTS releases, in 18.12.4.LTS or higher

    Version 19.6.x.STS is not shown.  Ignore version 20.2.x.  It is not publicly released.

    Thanks and regards,
