CCS/EK-TM4C123GXL: CCS and Eclipse

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGIA, CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Bear with me, I'm very new. I used Energia to create projects. I can't seem to get Energia to work on my Mac running 10.15. So, I thought I'd start learning CCS. After downloading and starting the install, Eclipse showed up. Now I'm confused.

Is Eclipse needed? Also, CCStudio is not showing up in my Applications list, but I can open it when I spotlight search for CCStudio.

I'm assuming I can find the .app for CCS, move it to the Applications folder. Uninstall Eclipse, so I can start watching tutorials on CCS.

Thanks!

  • CCS is Eclipse.

The installer should have put (or offered to put) an alias to CCS 9 on your desktop.

The CCS executable/application bundle is at /Applications/ti/ccs920/ccs/eclipse/Ccstudio.app

But you need the Eclipse.app that comes with it (in that same directory).

Leave CCS where it is. Make an alias for the application bundle. Or, as CCS is running, right-click its icon in your Dock, choose Options->Keep In Dock, and it's there when you need it.
