CCS/TMDSEVM6678: Link static libraries compiled using different CCS versions

Part Number: TMDSEVM6678

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi

Could anyone tell me whether it is OK to link .lib files compiled using different CCS versions(for example, one using CCS5 and another using CCS9)

So far I didn't observe any issue but any further confirmation on this?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Siyuan

  • The version of CCS is not that important.  The version of the compiler (which is not the same) is important.  Here is the key rule to follow: The version of the linker must be greater than or equal to the version of the compiler used to build any object file or library.  Following that rules avoids most problems.  Other things can go wrong, but the linker will automatically detect them and issue a diagnostic.

    Thanks and regards,
