CCS/TMS320LF2401A: Can CCSv9 be used for building for a TMS320LF2401 ?

Hello,

I inherited an old firmware, which was developed for a TMS320LF2401 DSP: today I run CCSv9, and I am not able to figure out whether I can use this IDE for this target... I imported the project as a "legacy CCSv3" project, but the "project properties" shows that there is no builder... so it does not build. I went to the AppCenter... and the search did not find anything for TMS320LF2401 .... Could you help, please ?

Hello Tibor,

No modern version of CCS supports F24x. The last version of CCS to support it is the old CCSv3.3. You need a special version of CCSv3.3 to get F24x support. Please see:

Hi Ki, and thanks for the clarification: so no hope to make it build with my CCSv9....

I followed the link in your response, it takes me to an URL where I can buy CCSv3 ( TMDSCCS2000-1 ): is my understanding is correct, that even today this CCS version is not free ?

Yes, the special version for F24x is not free. This is due to royalties on the build tools.
