CCS/TMS320VC5409A: Latest CCS version with C5409 support, Windows10

Hi CCS experts,

We have an older C5409A design that's been refreshed with some newer analog parts but the processor stays the same. We have to do some software development.

I have a couple questions I need help with

1. What's the latest CCS version that supports C5409A development, build and JTAG debug. Also, needs to work in Windows10

2. What's the suggested emulator?

3. I'm not 100% sure but it may need to support DSP/BIOS

Brad,

The last CCS to support C54x was 5.5. Windows 10 did not exist when CCSv5.5 was released. Windows 7 was the latest so that is what it was verified on. So CCSv5.5 does not support windows 10. You could try it but there may be issues. If they run into issues with Windows 10 they could try Windows 7 in a VM.

As far as debug probes an XDS510 would be the default for C54x.

DSP/BIOS 5.31 is the last verison to support C54x . https://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_registered_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios/index.html
