CCS: Install 4.4.8 MSP430 compiler on CCS V9.3 Windows

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

The bug still exists with CCS 9.3 when trying to install ti_cgt_msp430_4.4.8_windows_installer.

The workaround suggested on the previous thread partially worked for me.

MSP430 v4.4.8 is listed among the installed software (screen 1) but not in the available compilers (screen 2).

How to get it?

  • Hi,

Please zip up the contents of your install directory's install_logs folder and post them here.

What do you see in the install directory's tools/compiler folder?

What are the contents of your install directory's eclipse/downloads folder?

    Thanks,

    Danish

As a stop gap, you can go to the directory C:\ti\ccs930\ccs\eclipse\p2\org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core\cache\binary and retrieve the freshly downloaded compiler.

Copy it to a different directory, rename it to .jar or .zip and extract its contents. The executable will be there and you can manually install it.

By the way, I am sending the info to Danish as well - I couldn't install it on my system.

(edit) I was able to install this compiler in two other systems without problems. I got momentarily confused by my multiple installs and running CCS releases.

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Thank you for the answers.

I've copied C:ti\ccs920\ccs\eclipse\downloads\ti-cgt-msp430_4.4.8 under C:ti\ccs920\ccs\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-msp430_4.4.8 and CCS accepted it.
