CCS/MSP430F5659: Output file exceeds code size limit

Hi,

I’m getting an error when I compile “output file exceeds code size limit”. I’m using CCS version 6.2.0.00050 and have a free license. The MCU is a MSP430F5659. I’m stuck, please help!

Should I try and reinstall the license? My only concern with upgrading is that I’m afraid it may cause unintended/unexpected problems with my existing code. Is this something I should be concerned with?

Usually the biggest concern is when using a newer version of the build tools. But you can always have a newer CCS version use the same build tools you were using with CCSv6. You can get older versions of the compiler from CCS.
