CCS/DRV2700EVM: Programming the MSP430 on the DRV2700EVM

Part Number: DRV2700EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2700, , MSP-FET

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear Community,

I will try the DRV2700 Driver for a piezo-control application and to evaluate the chip, I am considering buying the DRV2700 Evaluation module DRV2700EVM. Since I want to implement my own logic on the microcontroller, I am wondering what I need in order to Flash my own programms.

I never worked with an MSP430 device, so please bare with my questions:

The User Manual states a few optional Hardware for programming the Evaluation module. As far as I understand, I Need the following things:

1. CCS IDE for Coding/Compiling

2. A JTAG Programming Tool (I found the MSP-FET)

I also understand that the EVM uses the spy-bi-wire interface for programming/debugging. Do I need any kind of adapter to interface the MSP-FET probe?

I'd also be happy to receive some general info/links to introductions into the MSP430 handling, I am a bit lost to be honest.

Thank you in Advance!

Tom
