Hello!

I'm using tms320c6670. I want to use clock and timer in my project.

Now the frequency of my dsp is 1000000000Hz. Please tell me the period of one system tick in seconds when I'm using the system clock by default. And it would be greate to read somewere about using clocks and timers in my dsp. It would be greate to know also how I can change the period of system tick for my dsp.

Hi,

If run the CPU at 1GHz, then the system tick is 1 ns.

Please see the timer user guide http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sprugv5a/sprugv5a.pdf. Note the timer is clocked at 1/6 of the system clock, that is 166MHz. One timer tick is 6 ns.

To change the system tick, please change the PLL multiplier and divider. How you set the CPU run at 1GHz is where you can change the CPU running a lower speed.
