XDS 510 USB with CCS v4

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28335

I met problem like below when I try to connect to MCU in CCS v4.

I using XDS510 USB emulator.

When I Launch TI debugger mode in CCS v4, massage is appeared.

Trouble Writing Register ST1:

Error 0x00000004/-1137

Error during: Register,

It appears that the target is being held in reset.  This may be

due to Wait-In-Reset (WIR) configuration set by the EMU0=0

and EMU1=1 pin settings.  If this is the case, DISCONNECT

all CONNECTED devices including icepick and then select

RETRY to clear the WIR configuration.

If this is a multi-core system, the master CPU may not be

releasing the DSP/MCU from reset.  Please check your

configuration in CC_setup and/or your GEL file to ensure that

nothing is blocking the DSP/MCU from being released from reset

Is there problem in emulator or CCS v4? or my option?

All project file is same with CCS v3.3.

Only difference is that .ccxml file is used in CCS v.4

  • Hi,

    Which MCU are you using?

The message indicates the device is being held in reset. Can you please check the reference below that has tips for troubleshooting your connection?

    http://support.spectrumdigital.com/guides/JTAG_Emulator_guide/

If all tests pass, I would also check the page below that has tips to clean up CCSv4 environment and start fresh - this usually helps, especially after a crash.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Thanks for Helping~!

I'm reading above technical material, and this will be helpful.

    I use TMS320F28335 and Window XP SP2.

I couldn't find drivers for my emulator (XDS510USB made by SpectrumDigital) in CCS v4.

Because emulator is bought in several years ago, I don't have any additional drivers for CCS v4.

  • Hello ,
