CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC1352P: ROV Classic Tool Not Working

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1352P

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear Support:

I am using CCS v9.20 on a CC1352P1 LP and used the Tools menu item to bring-up ROV Classic (like I have on so many other releases of CCS) and it doesn't come up.  It tells me that I need to install XDCTools and BIOS from these locations:

http://downloads.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios
http://downloads.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/rtsc

But I already have these installed on my PC.  Specifically I have XDCTools v3.60.1.27_core SYS/BIOS v6.52.0.12 on my PC per fhe Window->Preferences listing.  So do you know what is the problem that ROV Classic wont' run with my CCS v9.2?  Please advise.

Thanks,
Tim

  • Tim,

Could you share a screenshot of the message that appears when you open ROV Classic?
In the project properties of the project you are debugging, which version of SimpleLink SDK is enabled?

I just opened up ROV Classic in CCS 9.2 and it came up fine, although with a CC2652R1 LP but that shouldn't matter.

  • Hey AartiG:

I am using SDK v3.30.0.3 of the CC135x.  Below is a screenshot of what comes up when I try to bring up ROV Classic:

Also I have noticed that when I try to open up a .cfg file using XGCONF editor, it is not enabled - it does not show up when I try to right-click the file and select XGCONF to view the file.  Is there something I have to do in order to use XGCONF with CCS v9.2?

    Thanks,
    Tim

  • I noticed for some reason the screenshot didn't come through so I am attaching it as an image this time.ROVClassic.docx

  • Tim,

Thank you for attaching the screenshot. That message is one I have not seen before, nor am I able to reproduce. Same thing with XGCONF. I have tried with a couple of different projects and am able to open the .cfg files with XGCONF without issues.

I am wondering if there might be something messed up with your CCS installation. If possible, could you try wiping our your current installation and reinstalling? Or even install it to another directory and test again. Let us know if the issue persists after reinstallation.

  • Hey AartiG:

Thanks for your response.  It took me a while to bring in another version of CCS and get it installed on my PC, but got that done and moved to v9.3 I the process.  And the problem goes away.  Weird that happened with v9.2 - not sure what went wrong, but installing v9.3 fixed the problem.

    Thanks,
    Tim
