Hi,

We are working on the module testing of the software developed for  processor TMS320C30. For testing we use TMS320C3x/4x C Compiler Shell Version 5.11  TMS320C3x/4x COFF Assembler Version 5.12 and simulator TMS320VC33 simulator. All these are available in the Code Composer IDE 4.10.37.

But by mistake we ordered CodeComposer Studio IDE 4.x. Actually we were not aware of the difference between Code Composer and Code Composer Studio. Now we are facing problem of not having the compiler and simulator mentioned above in the TI Code Composer Studio IDE V4.x. So is it possible to have the TMS320C3x/4x C Compiler Shell Version 5.11 , TMS320C3x/4x COFF Assembler Version 5.12 and TMS320VC33 simulator in the new Code Composer Studio IDE V4.x.?.

Please guide us on the other possibilities.

Also is it possible to replace the Code Composer Studio IDE V4.x and get the Code Composer IDE 4.10.37 withou any additional charges.

    Unfortunately no. Although you could use CCSv4 to build the projects using a makefile - i.e., with minimal intervention from the IDE, there is no compatible simulator or emulator driver for the C3x family of devices.

    I see two other possibilities:

    - keep working on the C3x family of devices and purchase a copy of the Code Composer software (check the link below).

    - move to a newer device family (C67x or C674x come to mind) and use your existing copy of Code Composer Studio. This has the added benefits of being fully supported and having a much better price/performance ratio per device.

    I suggest writing to ccs_license_file_help@list.ti.com and explain the situation to them. They may be able to help you with this.
