Compiler/TMS320F2808: Is there a compiler defects database?

Thanks for the information - I've found them.

However, what about defects discovered after the installer for a version was created?  At least for LTS versions I would expect errors discovered later to be reported if also in the LTS version.  Is this not done?

In recent releases, information about resolved defects and known defects is located in the file README.html, in the root directory of the compiler installation.  Once the release goes out, this file is not updated.  The entire release is a snapshot in time.

Here is one way to see information about defects discovered after the release occurs.  Look at the defect information in the last release for the associated stream of releases.  For instance, with regard to version 18.1.4.LTS, the last release on that stream is 18.1.8.LTS.  So, install version 18.1.8.LTS and look at the files Closed_defects.html and Open_defects.html.  I apologize for that being so inconvenient.  For version 6.4.6, the last release in the stream is 6.4.12.  Here are the closed defects and open defects.

• Found In Release: C2000_6.4*

You can export the list of defects reported by the filter to allow easy browsing, e.g. in HTML format.

Is this suitable for your needs?

I assume you would need to re-run the query at regular intervals for a particular release stream to get an updated list of defects.

Some of these issues provide only brief details of the problem, for example https://sir.ext.ti.com/jira/browse/EXT_EP-8096. Some have associated threads which can be useful, others don't, or the link is no longer available.

Is there any further detail available to allow such defects to be analysed to determine when it could introduce errors?

Hello.
I'm now looking at defects for myself rather than a colleague.

An earlier reply to one of my questions stated "install version 18.1.8.LTS and look at the files Closed_defects.html and Open_defects.html" as the way to find the latest defects lists for the 18.1.* stream.

I have downloaded and installed ti_cgt_c2000_18.1.8.LTS_windows_installer.exe but these defects files are not installed.

What am I doing wrong?

I apologize for the error.  In version 18.1.8.LTS, the information on resolved and known defects is located in the file README.html.  When in doubt, always begin with the readme.
