CCS/IWR6843ISK: Stuck in "Mailbox_write" or show error message "xdc.runtime.Error.raise: terminating execution"

Hi sir,

I migrate the demo code "C:\ti\mmwave_automotive_toolbox_2_9_1\labs\lab0002_short_range_radar" to IWR6843.

So basically the SW structure you can refer to this demo code.

And before I merge the SPI function this version of my FW is worked and stable.

Is there another detail setup you need to know?

I think the problem is about timing or frame time.

Cause I modify the frame time to 800ms the system become stable.

Any suggest to solve this problem?

Hi Frank,

Depends on bit-rate you are connecting and what's the data the demo is transferring. Also there is over-head of calling function SPI read/write functions since you can transfer all data at once. You can instrument the same using the SPI test code @C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_04_00_03\packages\ti\drivers\spi\test.

Hi sir,

The SPI function in my code structure is stable except in "MmwDemo_mboxReadTask".

So I think it's a problem about timing.

And I also had referred to the test code in driver folder.

The data what I transfer is also simple just a magic number.

And I found the processing time of slave read/write is very long.

Observed by the pmu_counter.

Hi Frank,

Couple of things:

1) SPI configuration. If you can share the SPI configuration params we can try and use the same on our side and see if we can review/re-produce the issue.

2) Logic Analyzer: If configuration is correct you may need to connect logic analyzer to the SPI pins on MMWAVEICBOOST and try to analyze the signals.
