CCS/DRA829V: LIN communication

Part Number: DRA829V
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I have some questions about the LIN communication of DRA829:

1.Does the UART of DRA829 support LIN mode? The picture is taken from the PROC084E2_SCH, which shows the LIN modules on the development board. I see that its peripheral circuit is a LIN transceiver. So I infer that DRA829 has the function of UART to LIN.

2.But when I read the Technical Reference Manual of DRA829, I found that the UART module does not have a LIN pattern, and the registers of UART are also quite different from the LIN protocol. So does it mean the LIN communication on the development board is realized by means of software simulation ?

3.As the LIN module is designed on the development board, have you ever debugged this function before? Can you provide the corresponding code?

Hope to hear from you soon

Thanks & Regards.

  • Hi Echo Liang,

As written in the TRM, UART module doesn't support any LIN specific functions, but as LIN was developed to be run on any simple UART, I see no problems to support LIN via DRA829 UART and software.

Regarding your question 3. I've pinged EVM engineers and hope it will be answered soon.

    Regards,

    Stan
