CCS/EK-TM4C123GXL: Board not being recognized in Resource Explorer

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi all.

I'm new to TI microcontrollers and electronics in general. I've got here an EKTM4C123GXL, and I've connected it to my PC with a micro USB cable. It's recognized by my PC, and the activity LEDs light up. Unfortunately, when using the resource explorer on the desktop version of CCS, it simply fails to recognize my microcontroller. It says "no board detected". I understand that I haven't really given much information here, but that's really all I'm working with here.

To my knowledge, there are no drivers associated with the microcontroller, so I don't think that's the issue. This also happens when using the online version of resource explorer. I'm running Windows 10 with the latest release of CCS.

Thank you for any advice you can provide.

  • Ahmed,

The auto-detect feature only works with our newer LaunchPads.  It does not work with the old TM4C123 one.

You can simply select the board int he box right below the no boards detected message:

This feature is really just setting up a filter in Resource Explorer so that it shows the content that is relevant to the board.

    Regards,

    John
