CCS/TMS320F28335: How do I design a program that accounts for the time difference from event A to event B in accounting

Your question is not clear with respect to calculating the time between events (breakpoint) in code using CCS or between external events with a peripheral.  So, I will provide you with both.  If you want to calculate the time between breakpoints with CCS then you can use the profile clock.  For more information please see Profile Clock in:

 If you want to calculate the time between 'external' events, then you could use the eCAP module.  For an example of the code see the F2833x workshop at:

See module 7 lab exercise where the eCAP is used to calculate the period and duty cycle of a PWM waveform.  Other eCAP code examples can be found in C2000Ware:
