CCS: Several Code Composer studio

Hi, TI Technical support team,

I'd like to know the basics.

Since products developed with older versions of CCS need to be maintained, older versions of CCS is installed on my computer.

- CCS Version: 4.2.1.00004.  WIn7 64bit.

I consider using the new MSP430 chip. I think a newer version of CCS is needed when using that chip.

Can I install and use multiple versions of CCS? Can I use new version so that it doesn't affect older versions?

    Yutaka,

    Having mutiple versions of Code Composer Studio on your computer is fine.  I have 13 different versions on this computer.  In general they operate independently for one another.  CCSv4.2.1 is 10 years old so  for the new 430 chip you will likely want to install a newer version of CCS.

    Dear John, 

    Thank you for your help. I had understood my CCS version is very old version.

    This software is like a grandchild. In a way, I'm attached to it.

    I think that we should change version of the product.

    However, it is not easy to change, as new defects may be included for mass product.

    I expect the new version to be stable!!
