CCS/DRA829V: DRA829 not visible in TI Resource Explorer CCS Version: 9.3.0.00012

Hi TI team,

Under Select Board or Device I am not able to find DRA829 chip. During installation I selected Jacinto DRAx SoCs component. Please let me know if I am missing an update or a patch?

I need a simple example application that I can flash/debug for MCU domain R5FSS.
I will really appreciate if anyone can quickly unblock us.

Hello Rizwan,

Not all devices have specific device support in Resource Explorer. DRA devices are among those devices not supported. For people using such devices, it is recommended to start with the Processor SDK Getting Started Guide:

https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide/ccs_getting-started.html#automotive-processors-tdax-drax

Note that you can still use Resource Explorer for generic documentation however.

Hi Rizwan,

I am using 9.30 as well. You can search for the name: j721E_DRA829_TDA4VM.

That should be the right choice. If your problem is solved. Please resolve this query.

I have tried searching j721E_DRA829_TDA4VM but I don't find it in the resource explorer.
Can you share a screen shot?

Also, I have just installed for Jacinto component only. Is it because of this?

Hi Ki,

I also tried setting up the PSDK for RTOS on CCS. But I can not even find j721E_DRA829_TDA4VM in the Board or Device field for the target configuration (ccxml) file.

I am new to this IDE so I think I am missing something. I will really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction.

What CCS version are you using?

Hi Rizwan,

Attaching the screenshot.

On CCS window.

View->Target Configurations

Right click on projects -> Open new target configuration.

In the connection choose Texas Instruments XDS110 USB debug probe.

Board or device type j7.

Forget my last question. You mentioned 9.3.0 in the subject. It should be supported on that version as shown by Keerthy in his last post.

Thanks a lot for the screen shot.

I had a different Connection setting. I will resolve this question but one last thing. Can you or Ki point me to the right PSDK for extracting a bare minimum example binary for DRA829 MCU domain R5FSS?

I am interested in the target initialization regarding PLL, Clocks, Power modes etc. Along with the startup code and linker script.
