CCS/CC2640R2F: reading RSSI data for nearby BLE beacons/devices

Hi there,

I am new to TI CCS. I am trying to scan for nearby BLE devices and read their RSSI. till now, I was only able to read RSSI values for devices that I connect to. How can I passively read the RSSI values for near by devices without connecting to them.

Hi,

Can you please indicate what SDK version you are using?

Assuming you're using the BLE 5.0 stack (not the BLE 4.2 stack), you can visit https://dev.ti.com/tirex, and check our SimpleLink Academy. I'm sure it will be a great resource for you.

In particular, please check our lab on Scanning and Advertising here.

I believe you can accomplish your goal with Active Scanning (there is also something called passive scanning).
