XDCTools, Codec Engine and CSS do not work together

Dear experts,

I am walking throught the C64x+ iUniversal Codec Creation example, but get stuck with XDC and Codec version. I installed codec_engine_2_21 and xdctools_3_10_05_61. However, code composer studion does not recognize xdctools_3_10_05_61 and uses xdc_2_95_02 instead. codec_engine_2_21  is not supported with  xdc_2_95_02 , it needs xdctools_3_10_05_61. Otherwise, I get "Cannot find function findSuffix" error thrown.

Any idea how I could force to use CCS xdctools_3_10_05_61 ?

Thanks, Stefan

  • Stefan,

If you go into Window->Preferences.  Expand CCS and RTSC.  In the product and repositories section click on add.  Choose the select product from file-system option and specify where you installed XDC.  Click ok.  You will need to restart CCS.  After restarting CCS you should see the 3.10.05.61 version in the XDCtools version drop down box.

    Regards,

    John

  • Thanks for the quick answer. I missed to mention that I am using CCS v3.3 and not CCS v4. Thus, XDC 3.10 did not appear in the Component Manager... However, I installed now trail version of CCS v4, and, XDC 3.20 (part of CCS v4) does now appear in Component Manager! So, Component Manager is probabliy looking somewhere in the Registery.

How can I register XDC myself, such that it is recognized by the Component Manager? Or, how does Component Manager recognize the installed Tools?

Upgrades of BIOS and CGTools where recognized by Component Manager without additional registration or whatsoever, but not XDC.

  • Hm, I reinstallted again and, now, XDC 3.10 is visible in Component Manager. The only difference with yesterday is that this time I did a typcial and not custom installation. Probably XDC was not registered in the Registery or so.

    Entry in the registery is
