CCS/TIDA-01604: Boot from Flash

Part Number: TIDA-01604
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SFRA

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi Manish, We are not able to run 01604 from standalone Flash.

We followed every single step described in multiple documents (01604, F280049 ControlCard Guide and Schematic, F280049 Manual), also described in related threads in this Forum, too numerous to list here.

Here's a summary of action and results:

1. Loaded code with the Load menu in CCS, S1:A set to 11, S1 set to 11: 01604 functions normally. S1 was set to 11 with both switches in the UP position.

2. AC Power turned off, Logic power still on, S1:A set to 01, USB disconnected: AC applied, 01604 functions normally.

3. AC and Logic power off, S1:A at 01, S1 at 11: Logic power on, Red light indicating code execution does not turn ON; AC power applied, unit not functioning.

4. Tried loading with the Flash button of CCS menu, same result.

Here are couple of screenshots relating to this issue:

Looks like Flash is enabled and flash-lnk.cmd is generated. Load command does Erase and Rewrite Flash every single time. But when the logic power is turned off, it appears as though the Flash is erased!

So is the Flash not written to, and the code loaded to RAM instead?

If the code is written to Flash, is there an issue with startup boot from Flash?

Best Regards,

Sundar
