CCS/TMDSEMU110-U: CC Studio doesn't auto detect SDX110 probe

Part Number: TMDSEMU110-U

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

The CC Studio software does not detect the XDS110 Debug Probe. The software is reporting a Device Not Detected error message.

The reported error was noted, while testing with various software packages. Example: CCS7, CCS9 and CCS10.

I also loaded and update from CCS9 to CSS10, but still experienced the reported issue.

*The TMDSEMU110 is not noted in the CSS board filter settings.

I assume the software will only detect the boards listed in the filter.

Has anyone experienced his issue and have a resolution?

Here are some brief steps to reproduce the issue.

Install CCS software on to a laptop

Open the CCS software suite and go to the "Resource Explore" tab

Connect the Debug probe (via USB cable) to the laptop, CCS will attempt to auto detect and connect the probe

Failure Mode:

Error message displayed, No Device Detected

Note: The TMDSEMU110 boards is not listed in the filter. Ref attachment for details.

All the other board device were noted in the filter.

I have reached out to Texas Instruments technical support team multiple times, but they don't have answer or resources to help me.

  • Texas Instrument team,

Please close this case, no further investigation is required.

We are going in a different direction.

    Thanks

  • Everett,

The auto detect feature detects "LaunchPad" development boards.  These are the low cost starter development boards.  The auto detect feature is able to identify when one of these boards is connected.  If there is a standalone XDS100 debug probe connected to a separate board it won't detect it.  Techically we could know that there is a 110 there but no idea what is attached to it.  In the case of the LaunchPads we are able to read a serial number to idenfity it.

    Regards,

    John
