CCS/TMS320C6713B: Building CCS v3 bios project in CCS v9

Hi,

My customer has a question about building bios project for C6617 in CCSv9.

CCS9.1.0
C6000 Compiler: TI 7.2.24

Customer was able to import their old project (CCS v3) by “Project” => “Legacy CCS v3.3 project”.
Then build was done successful and main.out was generated.

But in map file, customer noticed .bios files were not liked.
With CCS v3 project, .bios files were generated with config1.cdb file, but in CCS v9 config1.cdb file was not compiled.
(timestamp of the object file was old one)

Could you tell me how to build an old BIOS project in CCSv9 ?

Hello!

IIRC, .cdb BIOS configuration was v.3.1, v.2.x legacy, and in v.3.3 was replaced with .tcf script. I believe .cdb was not really needed in v.3.3 and imported project.

Tashiro-san,

rrlagic is correct. the BIOS CDB file was for BIOS 4.x, which is not supported by current CCS versions. You'll need to update it to a TCF file. Please see the below link:

Also note the recent CCS versions does NOT come with DSP/BIOS. You will need to download it separately. You can download it from the below link:
